USB

The EVK1105 provides two USB connectors, USB USER and USB VPC (Virtual Port Communication).



USB VPC

The USB VPC connector can be connected to a host in order to power the board or to communicate with it. The USB VPC is connected to the UC3B board controller device and the default firmware will provide a USB to USART bridge to the UC3A device. The default settings are:

In order to use the RTS and CTS lines make sure that the jumper settings on J5 are correct. The correct jumper settings are described USARTS. More information about the different power supplies of the board can be found Power Supply.

USB USER

The USB USER connector provides the USB OTG capabilities of the UC3A. Therefore both USB host and device can be plugged into this connector. It is also possible to power the board from this connector if a host cable is used (Mini B plug). More information about the different power sources is available in the Power Supply section.
