The ATxmega128A1 is used to implement the Touch sensing and needs to be programmed with a demo firmware. The following steps explain how to do this. Refer to Figure 3.3 for connection details.

Disconnect all cables from the XPLAIN board.

Connect a JTAG or PDI programmer (JTAGICE mkII or AVRONE!) to the 10-pin header marked JTAG&PDIXMEGA on the XPLAIN board.

Connect the JTAG/PDI programmer to the PC host and power the JTAG programmer.

Connect an USB cable to the XPLAIN board and the PC to power the XPLAIN board.

Program the ATxmega128A1 with the hex file named ATxmega128A1_QTouch_Demo.hex
