Introduction

The QTouch Project Builder guides through device and capacitive-touch sensor selection to automatically generate an Atmel QTouch® Library based example project. Wizard guide the developers to embed capacitive-touch button, slider, and wheel functionality into general-purpose Atmel AVR® microcontroller applications.

When connecting physical sensors to an MCU running the QTouch Library, the QTouch Library must be configured according to the physical connection, i.e. what pins the different sensors' channels are connecte to. The Project builder wizard guides the user in selecting and setting up the QTouch Library according to the (planned) electrical connections between the physical sensors and the MCU.

Touch sensors can be based on two technologies(Acquistion Method), QTouch and QMatrix. The Project builder wizard supports both technologies and provides two different approaches. The wizard will guide the user through various pages where the user can provide the following settings:

The wizard will validate the settings before the user proceeds to the next page. If the settings are invalid, the wizard will provide error messages and mark the invalid data fields. Hovering the mouse over the error marker will provide description of the error and a possible fix.
