Manual Firmware Upgrade

If an automatic firmware upgrade fails, or for some other reason connection to QT600 cannot be established, a manual firmware upgrade may solve the problem.

Before starting this procedure, make sure the latest AVR Studio release is installed on the computer.

  1. 1.

If connected to the PC with a USB cable, unplug the QT600.

  2. 2.

Press and hold the button on QT600 when connecting the USB cable. The status LED will flash red and orange, indicating upgrade mode.

  3. 3.

In AVR Studio, go to the Tools menu and select QT600 Upgrade.

  4. 4.

The Atmel QT600 Upgrade program will start. If connection is established, the Status will show "QT600 present"

  5. 5.

Press the Start Upgrade button. The upgrade program will upgrade QT600's firmware.

  6. 6.

When complete, a message box will show if the upgrade was successful or not. Disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable.

  7. 7.

If the upgrade was successful, the status led will now be green. Try to connect to the starter kit with QTouch Studio.
