The XTAL1, XTAL2 and the reset pin on both ATtiny24 and ATtiny26 can also be used as regular I/O pins when not used as clock inputs or reset.
The pink configuration switches connects the pins to different components and signals depending on their usage. This is described in more details in Clock Sources and Reset.
